Judge Ree Casey-Jones


Judge Ree Casey-Jones sits on the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Southern University in Baton Rouge in 2000, thereafter obtained a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center,  and was admitted to practice law in 2006.   She is also a 2017 alumni of the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada and completed a judicial fellowship at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

She was in the practice with her father, Billy R. Casey, before being elected to the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court on December 10, 2016.  Her mission is to be a positive role model for all children in every aspect of her life and to administer justice with compassion and integrity for every family and every child.

She is a former volunteer for the Northwest Louisiana Pro Bono Project where she represented families as an attorney in family court who are unable to afford a private attorney. She was inducted into the Southern University Law Center Judicial Wall of Fame on April 5, 2018.

She serves as a Judicial co-chair for the Louisiana Department of Education, on the Louisiana Judicial Council for the National Bar Association Executive Board and a member of several other Judicial organizations.  She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar, Shreveport Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Foundation.

Judge Casey-Jones is the presiding judge over the Family Preservation Drug Courts, Child Support, Adoptions, Juvenile delinquency matters, and the newly implemented STAR Court which is a court for youth who are victims of human trafficking. She frequently travels throughout the country visiting other courts and spends several hours learning new and innovative ways to provide fair access to justice to citizens in Caddo Parish.

Judge Casey-Jones is a recipient of the Angels in Adoption, a United States Congressional award for outstanding work in child welfare. She has been recognized for the the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church/Harry Blake Trailblazer Award, recognized as one of the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Young Professional’s 40 Under 40  and a 2016 Athena Award nominee for her volunteer and community service in North Louisiana.

Her civic involvement includes membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  She serves on the board of directors for the Claiborne Fundamental Magnet School, Cedar Grove Community Development Corporation and the Pearls of Humanity Foundation.

She is an avid speaker and volunteers several hours throughout the state of Louisiana speaking and mentoring young people. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Darwin Jones, a Captain with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and a Marine Corps Veteran and their son, Dawson Casey Jones.
