1979 Graduate of Washington High School

1983 Graduate of Southern University, BS Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology

1986 Graduate of Southern University Law Center, Juris Doctorate Degree.

 PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Private practice for 5 ½ years with Harris & Harris Law Firm in Opelousas, Louisiana with father and sister until elected judge.

Public Defender for St. Landry Parish for 5 years.

Elected District Judge, Division “C” of the 27th Judicial District Court at the age of 31 in May of 1993.  First African American Judge elected in St. Landry Parish.

Served as Judge of the 27th Judicial District Court from May 1, 1993 and retired on December 31, 2020 as Chief Judge.
